NEXT TARGET® TEEN NIGHT
Friday, September 8, 2006: Mother Courage, written by Bertolt Brecht, translated by David Hare and directed by Lisa Peterson.
Written as the Nazi war machine rolled thorough Poland, Brecht’s anti-war masterpiece is “one of the most inspired plays of the 20th century,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle. In David Hare’s vigorous translation, Brecht’s text percolates with unexpected humor. Accompanied by original music from acclaimed composer Gina Leishman, Brecht’s stirring songs resonate with vitality. As staged by Obie Award-winning director Lisa Peterson, Mother Courage’s tale of struggle and survival becomes a powerful, multi-sensory experience that engages our minds and our hearts.

Show up at 6:30PM at the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre for dinner with fellow teens and a discussion with a theatre professional prior to attending the play.
Tickets are $5.00 for Teen Council members and $20.00 for non-members. For more information about Target® Teen Night call Jessica Modrall at 510.647.2978 or e-mail jmodrall@berkeleyrep.org.
