What time should I arrive at the Theatre?
We recommend you arrive thirty minutes prior to curtain when the lobby opens; especially if you have tickets at Will Call. While you wait for the play to begin you can enjoy our lovely Narsai David Courtyard, look for Berkeley Rep merchandise at our Theatre Store, and check out our fantastic concessions bar.
PLEASE NOTE THE 7PM CURTAIN TIME ON WEDNESDAY AND SUNDAY EVENINGS
Performances begin promptly. Latecomers will be seated at the House Manager’s discretion, and may have to watch on a video monitor in the lobby until intermission. Patrons who leave the Roda Theatre during a performance may—at the sole discretion of the house manager—be re-seated during the performance, not in their same seats. Patrons who leave the Thrust Stage during a performance will not be re-seated during the performance, but can watch the performance on a video monitor in the lobby. This is a policy we must enforce without exceptions, due to the design of our theatres, and for the safety of our actors and audience members.
Bringing children to the Theatre
We love introducing young persons to live theatre! However, some of our productions include mature subject matter and/or language that may be inappropriate for children. Adults are ultimately the best judge of what is right for the young ones in their charge. Please inquire with us whenever you’re thinking of bringing children to a performance. As a rule of thumb, we advise against bringing children under the age of seven. No babes in arms.
There is a $7 per order service charge on telephone and online ticket purchases (waived for subscribers who purchase by phone). There is no service charge for tickets purchased in person at the box office.
Refund & exchange policy
All sales are final, and there are no refunds. If you are a subscriber and the tickets in question were purchased as part of a subscription package, they may be exchanged until midnight the day before your scheduled performance. Click here to exchange tickets online. Otherwise, if at the last minute you are unable to use your tickets, you may turn them in as a contribution to Berkeley Rep. The value of the donated tickets is tax-deductible and acknowledged by mail. Tickets for past performances cannot be considered a donation.
How can I be contacted in case of emergency?
Since we ask all patrons to silence their cell phones and pagers while in the Theatre, please leave the below numbers with your babysitter or anyone else who may need to contact you at the Theatre in case of emergency. Please do not use these numbers for ticket exchanges or other box office inquiries.
On the Thrust you should call 510 812–8447.
In the Roda you should call 510 812–8446.
On the Thrust Stage no seat is more than 44 feet from the stage.
In the Roda Theatre the farthest seat is only 49 feet from the stage.
