OFFERS FOR THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE PEOPLES TEMPLE Opportunities for teens, families, groups and theatre lovers of all ages BERKELEY CA, MARCH 30, 2005 Berkeley Repertory Theatre is proud to announce several special offers in association with the world premiere of The Peoples Temple. The following events for families, teens and theatre lovers of any age are associated with specific performances and require ticket purchase: Friday, April 15, 6 PM: Target® Teen Night at the Rep includes dinner, a preview performance and a behind-the-scenes discussion with a member of the artistic team ($5$20 for teens). Sunday, May 1, NOON6 PM: Target® Play Date allows parents to attend a discounted matinee while their kids enjoy six hours of supervised activities at the Berkeley YMCA. Its less than the cost of a babysitter, plus 45% off the regular ticket price ($25 per ticket and $20 per child at the YMCA)! Thursday, May 5; Tuesday, May 17 and Friday, May 20: Purchase of a seat to the 8 PM performance includes a post-play discussion with members of the cast and the writing team ($43$49). There are also special opportunities for groups: Groups of six or more can access Berkeley Reps new docent program. If you provide the location, Berkeley Rep will provide a trained docent. The docent will bring everything you need for an informal presentation and engaging conversation about this daring show. Each visit lasts about an hour, and can be scheduled for either before or after you see the show. Docents are free for patrons of The Peoples Temple. The Peoples Temple is a theatrical exploration of the roots, the rise and the tragic demise in Jonestown, Guyana of the movement led by the Reverend Jim Jones. The show is directed by Leigh Fondakowski, best known for her work on The Laramie Project, a groundbreaking play that received its West Coast premiere at Berkeley Rep in 2001. The script was written by Ms. Fondakowski with Greg Pierotti, Stephen Wangh and Margo Hall, and the show is presented by Berkeley Repertory Theatre in association with Z Space Studio. Performed in The Roda Theatre at Berkeley Rep, The Peoples Temple begins previews on April 15, opens on April 20 and closes May 29, 2005.
