BERKELEY REP RENTS ITS THEATRES AND FACILITIES TO LOCAL GROUPS

Local Arts Agencies and Nonprofits to Benefit

BERKELEY CA, JUNE 1, 2005
Today Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced that, during its 2005/06 Season, it will make up to 320 hours available for public rental of its facilities. Rentals are a key way that Berkeley Rep engages with the community and, as part of that service, priority is given to Berkeley-based arts organizations and other not-for-profit agencies that benefit the local community. These rental hours are provided as part of the agreement governing the Theatre’s relationship with the City of Berkeley.

During the theatre season that begins September 1, 2005 and runs through August 31, 2006, the following spaces will be available for rental on the specified dates:

THRUST STAGE (2025 Addison Street)
Capacity: 401
Availability in 2005: September 12; October 17; and November 21, 28 and 29
Availability in 2006: March 13–16

THE RODA THEATRE (2015 Addison Street)
Capacity: 587
Availability in 2006: January 16, 23 and 30; February 6; and April 10

REHEARSAL HALL A (2081 Center Street)
Room Dimensions: 42’ x 37’
Availability in 2005: December 1–11
Availability in 2006: May 15–19

REHEARSAL HALL B (2081 Center Street)
Room Dimensions: 20’ x 19’
Availability in 2006: April 3–9 and May 22–24

Berkeley-based organizations and businesses will get first priority in the following order: not-for-profit arts organizations, for-profit arts organizations, other not-for-profit organizations, educational or governmental entities and non-arts-related, for-profit businesses. These dates will be held exclusively for public rentals until September 15, 2005; other dates for rental of these spaces may become available during the season.
