Dear friends,
It may seem counterintuitive that, when many people are making safe choices, Berkeley Rep audiences are making bold choices and reaping rich rewards.
In that spirit, I invite you to join us for the coming season. It’s a brave new world, and we’re meeting it with powerful new plays—seven in all, including four world premieres and two West Coast premieres—that refresh the mind and enrich the imagination.
We’re creating new shows with artistic giants. Grammy Award-winners Green Day. The Tony Award-winning director of Spring Awakening. Obie-winning director Les Waters. Playwrights Athol Fugard, Naomi Iizuka and Lisa Kron. Pop star Matthew Sweet and his Girlfriend, and an acrobatic imaginer who is kindred spirits with Cirque Du Soleil. Not to mention Tony Kushner.
As Kushner would say, “the world only spins forward.” So forward, I say. Join us. We intend to reward you with engaging, adventurous, thought-provoking and energizing entertainment.
Sincerely,

A Berkeley Rep ticket package may be the best theatrical value in the Bay Area. We lowered our ticket prices last year, and lots of good seats cost less than they did 10 years ago. You can afford to see all seven shows! Or you can choose any three or more.
Here’s what a ticket package gets you:
Plus you get free events that add even more pizzazz to your play date. Enjoy pre-show talks, late-night parties, post-show chats with our artists and gourmet tastings with local culinary artisans—all free!
People around the world know that Berkeley is a place where we think deeply and act on our convictions. We’re proud of our trend-setting, food-loving, free-speech town!
Our theatre is an example of Berkeley at its best. We promise you more than just entertainment—with plays that get you and your friends talking for weeks. We provide a premium experience from start to finish—with superior service that makes coming to Berkeley Rep effortless and enjoyable.
We’re right in downtown Berkeley, only half a block from BART. Bike lanes and bus routes converge on the corner, and convenient parking is everywhere. We validate for secure $3 parking just a block away. Learn more about getting to the Theatre.
Come early and enjoy our café—or place your order before the show and skip the line at intermission. Try our free talks and popular parties. Or just step outside and explore: bistros and bookstores, jazz clubs and gelaterias, art, parks and the farmers’ market…Berkeley awaits you!
