School of Theatre
The Berkeley Rep School of Theatre offers a wide variety of educational programs designed to enrich your theatre-going experience and appreciation through training for the working professional, the emerging artist and the theatre enthusiast. Weekly classes are offered for youth, teens and adults in the various disciplines of theatre throughout the year, in addition to a Spring Break Camp, Summer Theatre Intensive for grades 6–12 and a nationally recognized, highly competitive internship program.
Berkeley Rep is fully committed to serving the Bay Area community by offering a number of educational programs and outreach initiatives in addition to our regular season of plays and on-site classes. Through programs such as the Student Matinee Series, Classroom Visits and Residencies, Teacher Training Workshops and Playmaking Project, the School is able to complement and/or implement curriculum-based theatre instruction with high-level discipline-based training. In 2008, the School is continuing its exciting new program, Target® Story Builders, a story-building workshop for elementary school students.
As an active member of the Bay Area arts community, the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre also sponsors neighborhood programming including a monthly Family Series, Teen Council and Target® Teen Night.
