Who we are
Berkeley Rep’s Teen Council programming cultivates the next generation of theatre audiences and professionals, preparing them to think critically and creatively about theatre arts through engaging programming and training opportunities.
Teen Council is a group of 10–15 student leaders from around the Bay Area who engage their peers through theatre arts. Teen Council is responsible for planning and executing “Teen Night” programming to accompany shows in the Berkeley Rep season, hosting an original works showcase, organizing advocacy events, and conducting behind-the-scenes interviews with artists working at Berkeley Rep.
Members of Teen Council receive free admission to all our teen programs and shows, get exclusive access to professional artists, receive a transportation stipend to attend our events, and eat *a lot* of free pizza. A new group of students is accepted to be a part of this leadership group at the beginning of each school year.

Applications are now open for our 2026/27 season Teen Leadership Council cohort! Berkeley Rep is seeking student leaders from the Bay Area who are interested in furthering our mission of cultivating community and critically engaging with theatre both at Berkeley Rep and beyond.
New to theatre? Not sure if Teen Leadership Council is for you? We welcome all creative Bay Area teens, regardless of prior experience! This program is at its best when filled with a diverse set of skills and experiences. Fill out an application, and let’s discuss if Teen Leadership Council is the right fit for you.

Teen Night
Teen Night, hosted by Berkeley Rep’s Teen Council, offers exciting opportunities for high schoolers across the Bay Area to see a Berkeley Rep show, meet other theatre-loving teens, and engage with theatre professionals during special pre-show programming.
Teen Night for The Lunchbox at Berkeley Rep is Fri, May 22. $10 single tickets are now available.
