Shakespeare in Performance

Starts Mon 1/26 · $365

Shakespeare specialists Julian López-Morillas and Jennifer Le Blanc will lead this eight-week class exploring a variety of tools for auditioning and performing Shakespeare. Our approach will combine close analysis of the text with fresh techniques to explore and personalize the plays’ characters, using the language to enrich and deepen students’ understanding of how the plays work on the stage. Students will leave this class with one to two Shakespeare monologues ready to audition, and gain experience in Shakespeare scene work.

Instructor: Jennifer Le Blanc has acted with Prague Shakespeare Company, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, TheatreWorks, Perspective Theatre Company, The Pear Theatre, San Jose Stage, Pacific Rep, SPARC, Capital Stage, Aurora Theatre Company, Take Wing And Soar, Artists Repertory Theatre, and Colorado Shakespeare Festival. Jennifer is a produced playwright/adaptor, director, and teaching artist. She received her BA in English literature from UC Berkeley and her MFA from the National Theatre Conservatory. Jennifer is an Associate Artist with Prague Shakespeare Company and SPARC and is an alumna of PlayGrounds’ Writers Pool.
