Authentic emotion is at the core of truthful acting, yet accessing it in a healthy, sustainable way can be one of the actor’s most significant challenges. In this one-day class, acclaimed Bay Area actor, director, teacher, and Lorraine Hansberry Theatre Artistic Director Margo Hall shares practical techniques for accessing and shaping emotional truth into powerful performances. Known for her commanding stage and film work, sharp intelligence, and deep commitment to storytelling, Hall creates a supportive, rigorous environment where actors learn to draw from their own experiences and inner resources to create work that is honest, grounded, and alive.
Requirements: Please bring a memorized dramatic monologue that you’re excited to work on. We’ll use it as a foundation to deepen the character’s emotional life and to help you connect more fully and truthfully to the work.
