Actors’ Retreat

Starts Fri 1/8 · $335

As you start the New Year, this weekend workshop offers a unique blend of restorative retreat and acting workshop, giving you time to rest, rejuvenate, and reconnect. We’ll start each day with voice and movement techniques that cultivate embodied presence. Then we will apply ourselves to 21st century acting techniques and scene study, before finishing each day with goal setting exercises for the coming year. Students will deepen their technique, nurture their creative spirit, and strategize their 2027 artistic achievements.

Note: Due to the holiday season, the class is designed to be a self-contained experience, so pre-class preparation and rehearsal is encouraged but optional.

Instructor: James Wagner is a New York-based artist who has been acting for over twenty-five years and teaching for almost twenty. He is an MFA graduate of the American Conservatory Theater and completed his PhD exploring the intersection of acting techniques and spiritual practices at the California Institute of Integral Studies, with funding from the Esalen Institute.
