Advanced Acting: Stanislavsky’s Lost Technique — A Psychophysical Approach

Starts Wed 7/1 · $295

Learn how to use physical impulse as a springboard for text analysis and connect the dots in this creative performance lab environment! Actors who already work from a somatic, physical basis will learn how to apply this facility to text, while actors who approach roles primarily through analysis will broaden their expressive range through physical exploration.

In this class, reflection and text analysis will follow “up on your feet” physical exploration; the aim is not to abandon analysis but rather to ground your discoveries in kinetic experience. Scenes from Chekov’s Three Sisters will be explored through Stanislavsky’s études (improvisational scene studies), physical actions, and responsive work with other participants.
