Instructor: George Higgins teaches Stagecraft for Lawyers as a lecturer at Berkeley Law and trial skills as a guest lecturer at Stanford Law. George taught improv and trial skills as the Distinguished Practitioner in Residence and as an adjunct professor at Cornell Law. He taught improv as a teaching assistant at the BATS School of Improv. George has improvised with Stone Soup Improv, the (i)ncidentalists, BATS summer school intensive, Leela, and the Advanced Improv Lab at Berkeley Rep. George was formerly a trial lawyer, Navy prosecutor, and public defender. He’s a graduate of Michigan Law.

Instructor: Joshua Waterstone is a director, actor, and educator with extensive experience teaching improvisation and devised theatre. He has taught with leading theatres, training programs, and colleges, guiding students to build confidence, spontaneity, and ensemble awareness. As a performer, Joshua has been a company and ensemble member of multiple long-running improvisation troupes, performing everything from short-form comedy to movement-based theatrical improvisation. He has also founded and led original improv ensembles and worked extensively in devised theatre companies. Joshua’s teaching emphasizes play, presence, risk-taking, and authentic connection — creating a supportive space where adults can explore creativity, collaboration, and bold self-expression.
